Three Mobile rebrands Leeds store for Tour de France
In homage to the Tour de France, which began in the scenic county of Yorkshire, Three mobile rebranded their Leeds shop to Trois.
At the weekend, the Tour de France began in Leeds and Three Mobile wanted to get involved so they re-named the city’s shop for the occasion.
For those who haven’t brushed off their French dictionaries since school, Trois is Three in French.
Staff from the Three Mobile shop kept the French theme going throughout the day by handing out croissants to spectators.
The Tour de France couldn’t have come at a better time for the mobile operator, as they took the opportunity to promote their Feel At Home products.
The publicity stunt was to promote the ditching of roaming charges in France and other European countries, in a bid to stop customers from racking up huge phone bills on holiday.
Chief executive at Three, Dave Dyson said: “Roaming charges are a rip-off. We want customers to stay connected when they’re overseas without the fear of a nasty bill when they return.”
Customers who are on contract with Three Mobile can enjoy their mobile broadband abroad, the same way they would in the UK, so long as international roaming is activated.
However calls and texts to non-UK numbers will still carry expensive roaming charges.
The Tour De France will now be heading through Cambridge and London, before going across the channel to France.
