Three Mobile achieves 48% 4G coverage
Three Mobile has announced that it has reached 48% of their 4G mobile broadband rollout, providing four times faster speeds than 3G.
The company began rolling out its 4G service in December 2013 and has since continued to deliver the mobile technology across the UK.
The mobile operator confirmed that 3.1 million customers are now using their 4G service, about a third of their 8 million customer base.
In March this year, Three Mobile made 4G mobile broadband available to all its customers who have a compatible smartphone.
Chief executive of Three, Dave Dyson said: “The rollout of new capacity is progressing well and, most importantly for me, customer satisfaction is higher than ever.
“With advanced 3G network already in place all our customer are able to benefit from a reliable and high performing network.”
Three Mobile has said that their rollout will continue into 2015, with the hopes of reaching 98% coverage.
As well as rolling out 4G mobile broadband, the operator also claimed that it will be deploying technology to support low frequency 800MHz spectrum, to enhance indoor and rural coverage next year.
Dave Dyson added: “The addition of low frequency spectrum is just one part of our plans to expand Three’s coverage and bring our network to more people in more places in 2015.”
