Apple tops the ‘coolest brand’ in Britain rankings
If the release of the iPhone 6 wasn’t enough, Apple has once again topped the ‘coolest brand’ in Britain for the third year running.
The top 20 list shows eight technology brands made it on the list, including Google coming in 6th place and YouTube securing 7th place.
Sony also tipped into the rankings at 18th place, but no sign of Apple’s rivals Microsoft and Samsung in the top 20.
A selection of designer labels entered the CoolBrands chart, including Chanel, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen.
The results were made up from an independent poll of 2,000 British consumers and opinion representatives, such as musicians Ella Eyre, The Makers, Labrinth, the founder of SB.TV Jamal Edwards and model Jodie Kidd.
Jamal Edwards said: “Apple topped the list for the third consecutive year and, as a digital influencer myself, it is really refreshing that technology has a strong presence on the list.
“That said, it was not all positive for the Technorati, as Twitter hit a slight dip and fell out of the Top 20.”
While Twitter saw a fall in the rankings, Instagram made it to 14th place.
Chairman of the CoolBrands Council, Stephen Cheliotis said: “If anything, this year’s CoolBrands rankings illustrate that a solid reputation is hard to undermine or, in the case of rivals, overcome.”
The CoolBrands Top 20:
2. Aston Martin
8. Dom Pérignon
11. Bang & Olufsen
13. Alexander McQueen
19. Virgin Atlantic
20. Stella McCartney
