Android 5.0 Lollipop revealed
Google has officially released details of their next operating system named Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The new update will be available with the latest devices, including the Google Nexus 6, with other Android users (depending on the smartphone) receiving the anticipated operating system November 3rd onwards.
The latest Android devices will be the first to receive the update and it will then rollout to other models by going down the rankings of each range.
Therefore the more recent the model is, the sooner the update will be made available.
It is uncertain when every device will receive the new update, but it has been confirmed that the latest Google Nexus smartphones and tablets will be the first to benefit from the new operating system.
Customers who receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will notice a huge difference to the user interface, with the ‘Material Design’ animating icons when they’re touched.
According to Expert Reviews, the home screen, lock screen, settings pull-down menu and main settings page are also getting a makeover.
Google apps will also be changed to suit the new design, with some already being upgraded for the developer preview release.
Other quirky features include personal unlocking, which uses Bluetooth, WiFi networks and voice imprints which can detect when you are nearby. The device will then automatically unlock, but will remain secured if it cannot detect these networks.
